Covered Wagon Camping on the Oregon Coast

How fitting is it to sleep in a covered wagon while in Oregon? It would be cool anywhere- but if you think of Oregon it is definitely one of the images that comes to mind. Well…at least for me!

My Mom – peaking out from the door of the Covered Wagon

Twin Ranch has both covered wagon and tent sites. They all have a picnic table and fire pit. They even deliver the firewood to your site if you order some- We didn’t, but it is a nice service. Unfortunately there are no flush toilets- but you are camping…. The outhouses are clean though. 😀

The covered wagons have two double futons. They are bunk style. I slept on the one in the bottom of the wagon with Jack. My Mom slept on the top bunk- (about 3 feet off the ground).

The inside of our wagon- there is actually a lot of space in front of the sleeping area.

Jack loved it! We had tried tent camping a year ago- and he had been too scared. I was very excited that this was a success. Bonus- I got the privilege of snuggling Jack (my dog) all night.

Jack found it very comfortable!

One thing that I liked about staying here was the location. We could explore a lot of different parts of the Oregon Coast easily.

  • 7 minutes to Tillamock
  • 9 minutes to Garibaldi
  • 15 minutes to Rockaway Beach
  • 22 Minutes to Oceanside
  • 29 Minutes to Pacific City
  • 32 Minutes to Manzanita

  • 53 minutes to Cannon Beach
